Re: THE 2014 MX-5 CUP
Wow, what a weekend. The first round was the most fun i'd had in my life... now round 2 is the new winner. The racing was clean but hard, it was great to race with guys who knew what they were doing, but you also knew that you could trust.
Race 2 was a ding-dong battle that I learnt a lot from (mostly: to finish first, first you have to finish!). Steve, Luke, Andy and I were locked in a battle for the whole race. I was great, hard, fair racing and great to race with guys that are at a higher level, it makes you raise your game. I don't want to ruin the ending for you, but after 7 laps of hammer and tongs racing I get very angry with myself after the last corner.

Thanks to everyone for making it a great weekend! All the organisers who yet again put in a huge amount of behind the scenes work. And a big thanks to the guys at Deckspeed for helping me make it there.
Bring on round 3.

PS: how do you insert a YouTube link and have it come up as a video rather than a link?...

You need to press share on the youtube page and get the 'youtu.be' link, then use the 'youtu' tags

Re: THE 2014 MX-5 CUP
Results from the weekend - and for the Cup Championship so far - have bee loaded to the club site. These can be found at:
http://nsw.mx5.com.au/motorsport/mx-5-cup/results
Congratulations to our winners. And to everyone that took part, in competitive, and good natured racing, with no contact.
We did not have the trophy presentation on close of business on Sunday, as we were the last race and as it was some were not exiting Wakefield until 6.30pm. We will have the trophies from this round, and the prizes of headphones from our sponsor Audio Technica, at the next round at Wakefield on May 17 and 18.
If you are unable to attend that round and you are a class winner from the weekend, contact me and I will have your goodies sent to you.
Cheers
Craig.

Re: THE 2014 MX-5 CUP
Morning all
Round 3 coming up this weekend, 5 races over 2 days. A fairly ‘friendly’ schedule this time round for the MX5s, qualifying Saturday morning will be on at around 9.55, and our last race Sunday should kick off early in the afternoon, making for an early departure from Wakefield after the weekend’s racing.
A couple of pointers for all competitors:
- All cars taking the grid for the MX5 races need to have read and committed to the Code of Conduct (available on the website http://nsw.mx5.com.au/motorsport/mx-5-cup/downloads). We want competitive but fair and respectful racing, with consideration given to new entrants (anyone displaying a P plate on their vehicle).
- There will be a trophy presentation 30 minutes after the final race. We can’t nominate the specific time as Wakefield aren’t publishing times for each race, it is dependent on the flow over the day.
- The Cup committee will be available throughout the weekend in the Pit Lane garages 29 & 35.
Have a great weekend, look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for that video. Excellent camera placement with perfect choice of focal length. Maybe a little bit more of your face visible in the rear view would be better, especially in the last corner!

Here is my view of Race 5... Good fun Pushed hard to catch David and stay away from Daniel Deckers who was charging through the field. Special thanks to the Swift driver for saving my butt on the last lap!
