What extractors are you all running? Do you use aftermarket bolt on components from the extractors back or do you opt for custom made items? i just purchased an na8 and i do not like the exhaust too much from the previous owner, sounds like a single cam honda civic. All i know is that it still has the oem extractors, hi flow cat, and a cat back system. Very tempted at getting hurricane extractors and having everything else made up (no resonator, just a rear muffler and a cat). Going to a shop would allow them to keep it within legal Db levels (or just over :p) to keep Vic police happy.

As for the "back fires", it is just unburnt fuel gases burring up in the exhaust, most liking further down the exhaust now that you have aftermarket extractors that are less restrictive. Nothing to worry about, sounds pretty sweet too! :)

Hey mate, I had 4-2-1 CES Racing headers, quite a reputable brand here up in Brissy. I also had a custom cat back system

Also I posted this after my first hard run up a mountain and thought something might not be good (i.e. AFR etc...), I have learnt it happens no matter what and yes it sounds good and i prefer it this way :P

So thanks for the help everyone but yeah issue sorted :)
