Bugger, at least a set of cables should be shipped airmail and arrive pretty quick.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Here's hoping okibi, hopefully I'll be able to post some pics of the process.
The body work is on the back burner until this is done unfortunately.

Re: Rohan's NB8B.
Still waiting on clear reflectors and tension cables.
Went for a drive in Healesville (don road and the spur) yesterday (no top required) and aside from the beautiful whether I met an awesome couple who had some ratty old Italian cars...
Just happened to be walking back from the toilet when they rocked up.
Yesterday was a good day

Probably the most common mod done to MX5s everywhere! Looks good mate.

Re: Rohan's NB8B.
Thanks Nevyn. Big change for only 15mins and under a hundred bucks.
Although my girlfriend still insists she can't tell the difference.
Update (If you can call it an update):
Been in a massive crunch with study, but I have removed the luggage rack.
May be going up for sale.
Also, I forgot to post the pictures from the Phillip Island sprint day (6/4/14):

Re: Rohan's NB8B.
Today was new tension cable day.
I was quoted between 250 and 500+ for this so I thought even if I manage to completely burn the roof to the ground, I'll still probably break even.
So I downloaded the pdf from the big forum and set to work.
You can barely see the flag end of the old cable.
I used a coat hanger to push the new cable through. Here's my coat hanger thingy, you can see the loop which I attached the new cable to.
Pushed it through, absolutely no dramas at all. Just pushed it straight through.
Then drilled out the old rivet.
Bolted in new cable at the flag end, then used pliers to pull the hook end onto the old spring.
All in all, it was fairly painless.
I budgeted a whole day and I was done and cleaned up before lunch.
If anyone needs a hands with this, please PM me.

Re: Rohan's NB8B.
Okay so I've finally done some things.
Redline gearbox oil, Penrite full syn in the engine.
But best of all some BC coilovers.
I love them, not just for getting rid of the arch gap. I missed yesterday's high country run with the vic mx5 club so I made my own today. Four hours in the saddle and I was far less fatigued than when I did it with stock suspension.

Re: Rohan's NB8B.
Got a set of re003s put on the new wheels.
Most of the wheels didn't need wheel weights which is amazing coming from...
The new combo is light... Really light.
Old:
New:
And despite being a 195 instead of a 205 I think the new combo is a touch wider:
Only been round the block, but I don't know if it's the weight or the extra side wall... They're so much quieter and comfortable than what was on there before.
Still not sure about the bronze on silver thing though:
But hey, they're genuine rays wheels, and with the price of getting wheels from the states atm I'm pretty happy.
Should mention that they are 15x6.5 mazdaspeed (by rays) ms-01s.
Got them from a guy called dann here in vic who brings in wheels from Japan.
Nice guy and has a shed full of awesome jdm goodness just for the mazda crowd.
