Pretty sure these are the same, they're adjustable so once the stronger end links turn up I might be able to try to balance it by stiffening the front and leaving the rear on softest or something. I'll see how I go anyway, although the advice I got from someone more knowledgeable than pretty much anybody, was that they will only ruin the handling. I'll try them out and see.

Stiffening the front will increase understeer. You will want to soften the front or stiffen the rear.

Thought I had it around the wrong way. Been a while since I did any suspension adjusting in rFactor ir iRacing :)

16mm is generally considered too big for the rear of our cars

id try it with the new front bar but the stock rear bar at first trackphotos with an alignment similar to the what 949 racing recommends. id think itll still be lightly oversteer biased

Rotated the tyres front to back this morning, see how the outer wear goes on the unworn fronts at Lakeside on May 4th.

Did a Nebo run tonight with 2 MX5s, an awesome old Celica and a 626. Certainly impressed with the coilovers, and since my last Nebo run, it's also got stickier tyres. Lots of fun.

I found that, at least for me, the 16mm rear was too big (added to my oversteer issues) and have since gone back to stock.

With swaybars thing that making a change at one end of the car will affect the other end to some extent.

To induce understeer stiffen the front of the car with bigger springs, shocks, sway bar or a combination of these alternativley soften the rear of the car with smaller springs, shocks, sway bar, or a combination of these.

To induce oversteer stiffen the rear of the car with bigger springs, shocks, sway bar, or a combination of these alternativley soften the front of the car with smaller springs, shocks, sway bar or some combination of these.

Also don't forget that adjusting tyre pressure can effect oversteer/understeer.

A lot of my under steer ended up being alignment by the looks of it. Be interesting to see what you think with them in.

Ride quality definitely goes up with softer sway bars.

The guys at Automotive Plus had a 4.3 Torsen 2, so I went and picked it up today. Will have to do the seals before it goes in, looking into how difficult it'll be. Quick googling suggests the difficulty is in trying to do it while it's installed in the car, so hopefully it shouldn't be too hard. Won't be going in until April at least I think, don't want to go making more changes without running the car as it is for a couple of days.

New parts turned up today, so I'll be able to put my sway bars in between a track day on the 4th of May, and a gymkhana on the 10th. A bargain at $170AUD for all 4 links including postage from the US, ordered through Racing Beat themselves. Haven't found any suppliers in Australia that are anywhere near that price.

When installing the endlinks be careful to not put any preload on the sway bars. Quick ways is to make sure both wheels are off, install the end link on to the sway bar then adjust its the length so that the bottom bolt just slips through with no resistance, repeat for the lower bolt on the other side.

With both the wheels off you'd be adding preload not reducing..

I did mine with the car flat on the ground. Just make sure the middle part of the end link can spin a little with your fingers. Once you've found the middle ground of free spin tighten the locking nuts up and ta daa

The stuff Racing Beat sent suggest the best way is to adjust all 4 links to match stock length to start with before installing. Install both links on one side of the car fully tightened, and install the other 2 on the control arm only. Drop the car and roll it back and forth a bit to settle things, then lie down next to the car and adjust the non-fixed links so that the bar end stud fits through the bar without any resistance. Sounds feasible to me, potential to get lopsided links but my car is only 1cm lower than stock, so setting them to match the factory links at first should be fine.

With my 949 ends links, to get the adjuster loose on stock bars is minimum length.

Aftermarket bars are about half extended for memory. Done with the wheels on, sitting on bricks to the car is easier to get under.

hey fellas looks like im the other person MCA was talking about with the the Blues setup for an NB. I ended up sending my original set back in order to go firmer with the spring rates, (11k/7k) and valving spec'd up as I thought the rear was using too much travel and the rebound damping was a little soft. Glad Josh was able to help me out on this as I am much happier with the result now . at a rake of 18mm the car is quite neutral with a touch of understeer. i will try a couple clicks off the front that might fix it but im now on the hunt for a 14mm rear sway to help turn in response. Be interested to see how you go with ur sways.. What size are you going for?

Did he modify yours in the last 3 weeks? Sounds like he made the same changes to yours that he made to mine, couple of shims changed and a smaller hole in the pistons to stiffen things up.

My bars are 24mm and 16mm, will need to play with the adjustments to get it just a tad oversteery, I hope. I'm hearing suggestions of full stiff front and full soft rear from people that know better than I do. I'll see how I go at a gymkhana next weekend.
