Hi all, I am going to upgrade my intercooler on my SE but MX5 Mania are out of stock and no ETA on getting any soon so can anyone suggest where I can pickup a new one from? As I live in SA I will have to get it delivered.
thanks.

Re: SE Intercooler required
eBay is your friend - just enter "MX5 Intercooler" in the search field and select one of the "Turbo INTERCOOLER 28x5.5x2.5 AUDI JETTA MX5 MX6 BMW" ones (it's the same Cooling Pro intercooler as Mania have).
You'll need to visit SuperCheap/Repco/AutoBran for the silicon hoses and clamps and can easily fabricate mounting brackets from aluminium to support the top of the intercooler (the pipes+silicon joiners are strong enough to hold the bottom in place).

I bought mine from JustJap. If you search for the guide 'blackster' has written, I used the same size as him.

It's possible to go a little bigger than blackster's intercooler.
Here's how I know:

Yes Dann, I may be slow but I hear eventually. Reroute, oil cooler, bigger injectors, Hondata inlet mani gasket, E85, blah blah.
Anyone out there with a set of templates for ducting around the intercooler and rad?

I got mine from just jap. Mine the "tall" 7"/180mm tall version. Took about a week to deliver to myself in Adelaide.
Definatly do it, makes a good improvement to how it drives.

Re: SE Intercooler required
The other option to consider is the Fab9 intercooler:
http://fab9tuning.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&virtuemart_product_id=84&virtuemart_category_id=34&Itemid=876&lang=en
I bought one of these along with their COP kit and will be installing it within the next month or so (got too many other projects that need doing before then).
If you're OK with a 2nd-hand MX5 Mania intercooler with their top bracket and can wait that long, mine will be available, complete with the bonus "NitroDann graffiti" on the front (you can turn the intercooler around if you don't want to see it):

I bought one of these...
"This intercooler requires no modification" ... but it also says "Can be adapted to the MSM pipes".
Do you know if you have to chop the factory pipes for this to fit?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: SE Intercooler required
Tube & Fin intercooler 710mm x 180mm x 64mm
Cut the stock IC pipes down
Now it's all in place I think if I did it again i'd only chop 13cm off each one to begin with and see if that'd do.
The powersteering lines are a huge PITA.
I created a bracket using the factory mounts to support the intercooler.
