Hi....just bought a 1995 Na8

Postby Odd » Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:01 pm

I have been looking for some time for the right car....was prepared to travel but found it locally

Had sport cars since I was 19....AH sprites
Had Mazda's sedans for 35 years.....

The Mx5 is perfect match.... :D

It's red with 76,000k on the clock....and seems totally original other than an immobiliser
Will post photo's in due course.....once the rain stops!

Sounds like a nice find. Big plans or just enjoying it as is?

No Big plans....ATM

Will be doing lots of research, asking a few questions
Explore the opportunities
Fixing stone chips, and polishing the paint....tightening some bolts
replacing any worn bits with factory parts

Will be adding a few k's to the odometer and enjoying open air motoring

Plans are potentially subject to change at any point

They usually are!

Welcome to the community and the obsession, a fantastic find with such low km.....

The great thing about the '5' is there are so many options out there for modifying and customizing the car, the hardest thing is working out which way you want to go with it!

My aim at this stage is to be consumed by enjoyment of the car….by driving it
I particularly wanted a low kilometre/unmodified example
Having restored a sprite I'm aware that it is very easy to be consumed by the change process
I will tinker….but nothing I can't do myself….over a weekend

Perhaps some mods for safety and nostalgia
Roll bar and a full tonneau…..??

Nice. Is it really that shiny or just a good pic? Where abouts in Brissy are you?

I'm in Taringa

Paint work is pretty good....but will be better once I'm finished.... :D

Not easy to chase down touch up paint.....seems Autobarn's the go

I'd just given it a wash....but ,once I get the paint
I will clay it, fix all stone chips, give it a polish, then wax it
Should be even better

Looks stunning!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thanks!

I'm hooked...and Happy

Been driving an auto for last 5 years.....
Something about wind in the hair, working a gearbox,
I'm even reliving my youth and double declutch when changing down gears

It's fun to drive again!!!
