Remove ECU Pins

Postby brendanstacey » Mon Apr 14, 2014 3:47 pm

I need to swap some of my wires/pins in my NA6 ECU harness connector/terminal to wire up a variable TPS. Specifically 1N to 2M and 2L to 2K.

I'm having trouble removing the pins from the terminal as I need to re-use them. Anyone know how to remove the pins from the terminal keeping them intact and attached to the wire?

Thanks
Brendan

Fine flat blade screw driver in from the non wire side of the plug. You have to push a little tang down for memory then they side out.

there is also a little tab that runs the length of the back of the connector - one for each bank of pins. You will be able to see the clips looking side on. You need to un-clip this tab as it prevents the pins from being removed.

Yep thanks all makes sense. Im still having trouble releasing the tab but I was pushing up. I'll push down now (from the ecu side) and see what happens.

Thanks

It's up or down just keep fiddling. Once you get one the other should only take a minute. Are you keeping very slight tension on the wire?
