I found that too John - it really scared the begeezus out of me - and then I woke up!!

I find it helps if I don't wake up.

Otherwise we miss out on Qld points
I have my set of 200 utg 205/15 star specs I used for natmeet 2012 and Wakefield
They will be a bit slower than my 225/15 rs3s though

It would be very interesting to put Danny's 300hp through those around lakeside. Drifting anyone? :D

Looking forward to meeting you Danny. I’m an admirer of your work on the winning Blue NC.

John, I haven’t improved 3 seconds at Wakefield since Natmeet 2012, I’ve been running in the 1:10’s there since 2010. The difference is at Natmeet I had stock wheels and daily drive Michelin road tyres on, as per Natmeet rules, rather than R-spec tyres. For Lakeside I’ll also be running stockies, as much as I’d like to run R-specs, touring with a trailer loaded with tyres after the event isn’t very attractive to me.

So the car will look like this:

I could say that the reason I swapped from Class F to Class H is to, like Minx says, get State points for third (or second if Danny drops out of the class) but it isn’t. You’ll need to wait for the answer.

I’m really looking forward to Lakeside as it ticks off another track from a very long list but I still need to drive this car home after the event, so there won’t be any heroics exploring the limits of road tyres on a track I’ve never seen before.

See everyone in a couple of days.

Lakeside is a great track but very fast and unforgiving. We all want everyone to go home with their cars and most importantly themselves in one piece. So on road tyres it's definitely a nine tenths track

Having said that it rewards a technically tight and smooth style so don't give up on winning the class.
especially if it's wet.

This lap of Lakeside by Doug Chapple is essential reading for all those doing the sprints on Monday. From the Natmeet pages of the Queensland clubs site.

Likewise Phil. :D You and any other Natmeet attendees are most welcome to drop by for a tour when enroute north. :D We're not too far off the beaten track. Just PM me if you're keen.

Yes, I won't be eligible for H-Class as I the only set of wheels I have for my road NC are shod with R-spec tyres.

Turn it up John! :P A 2.5l at 10psi should make that...not a 2.0l.

Cheers,
Danny

Thanks for the offer Danny but we're on a mission on the way up.
We are travelling the back roads, missing Brisbane coming in via Gatton, Esk, Kilcoy, Beerwah and onto Caloundra to drop the gear off before heading to to Sunshine Airport to pick up the wives on Saturday afternoon. You know what it would be like if we arrived late

Poetic licence Danny

Or measured at the flywheel without the parasitic load of the SC on an optimistic dyno run in Winnipeg in mid winter.

Here is my recent quickest lap. On road tyres at Natmeet I'm expecting to be about 1 sec slower if it's dry. That's around the high 63s low 64s

geez Charlie Brown!! That's absolute TOTAL MX5/86 country!! You will totally enjoy that drive and in particular the run from the D'Aguilar Highway from just west of Woodford to Beerwah via Peachester - watch for the signs!! Gatton to Esk beautiful but make sure you come past Somerset Dam to Kilcoy, twisting and winding fun piece of sealed road!!

Danny, I have some NA original 14" if you want a lend or some 15x6.5 Advanti's with Firestones on them!! You have my number!!

Look forward to catching up with all Monday

Just finished the big clean

The good thing about Natmeet is that the car gets cleaned properly at least once every two years!

I draw the line at using a tooth brushes and cotton buds on the door hinges though.

Still might be able to add a point to the QLD concourse score.

Was that a cotton bud I saw you with this morning John?

The car looked very clean indeed, along with every other one that was there 'cept mine!

Raining here now and watching the radar Caloundra is about to get dumped on - not what I was hoping for :(

Brisbane area Cloudy. Scattered showers, becoming less likely at night. Winds south easterly 25 to 35 km/h.

Current Norwegian 48 hour forecast for Dakabin [Lakeside is adjacent to Dakabin Railway Station]

http://www.yr.no/place/Australia/Queens ... _hour.html

Not too bad, hope it eases off to get some good runs in! :?

Comparison to my home which is coastal and 37km by road north east:
