52mm ASI Radiator fit in SE?

Postby decayed.cell » Sat Apr 12, 2014 1:43 am

Hi guys - as per title, wondering if it will fit? Mines starting to leak and I have been reading that the stock SE one is different to the normal NB one (fans as well)

From what I've found doing some investigation on this in the past, could be wrong though....

Stock NB = 16mm
NB SE = 25mm

52mm is a very tight fit but can be done with some trimming (not sure of what).
40-42mm is a better size with lots of cheap options on eBay, not sure about the quality though.

Tight.

Better to go the smaller one along with a proper reroute and ducting.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

I ended up fitting a 42mm and a 52mm would not fit without a great deal of work.

I'm not happy with the Chinese radiators and will be replacing mine with a FM crossflow unit at some time in the future.

52mm's typically require aftermarket fans.

I thought the SE just used the NB automatic rad - makes sense to me.

Doesn't really fit. I have one and I'm waiting for slim line fans and shroud to arrive. The standard shroud is too thick and interferes with the throttle body elbow.

Btw if you are replacing the fans they are 2 speed so some rewiring has to be done to replace with more conventional setups.
