Re: mx5 towbar
Yeah, I know. My Specialized Demo 9 was a bastard to transport with a car. I now have a Mongoose black diamond triple. Transported with my hilux. Much more practical

You'll be able to clamp onto the seat post.

Re: mx5 towbar
Demo 9 was a touch heavier I think. Hence the term "down hill"

Heh - "mountain" bike does kind of imply there might be some climbing...

Hey, I'm also interested to see what you come up with. Preferably to take 2 mountain bikes

Re: mx5 towbar
First cut pics.

It's pretty rough but you can see the direction I'm going in. It all slides and folds. Take helmet and body Armour from boot, slide out rack, slide arms in, fold up and put in boot and go riding.
Next is the arm that'll clamp to the seat post.
Like or no like??

Re: mx5 towbar
Its looking good so far. What does it weigh in at?
Also how does the bike fasten to the rack, are there going to be supports to stop the bikes swaying and moving around?

Re: mx5 towbar

Adjustable seat post clamps.
I'll also slot the pieces that the tyres sit in so they can be held in place with a velcro strap
