Re: Hervey Bay MX5 Owners - Run for Lunch 2nd March
Another good turnout and a couple of new faces for our second event.
a very nice and sociable Lunch was followed by a tour of the nearby countryside.
As discussed, I'll find a place to have a regular monthly coffee and social meeting.
Some possible future runs talked about were a BBQ at Theebine, a run to the Sunny Coast for a day to check out part of the MX5 NatMeet, a run out around the Childers area for the 'drivers' among us.
Stay posted.

I might try to come up for the next meet up in Hervey Bay. I've got a little rental in Point Vernon so it'd be a good excuse to come up.

Funnily, it seems that most of the MX5 owners in Hervey Bay come from Point Vernon.
We meet regularly on the first Sunday of each month. 9:30 am at Cobbers Cove Cafe on the esplanade, Scarness. (corner of Zephyr street).
Next meeting is 6 April. Look forward to meeting you.

Re: Hervey Bay MX5 Owners - Run for Lunch 2nd March
I have looked at the distance and it is a bit much to do a return trip from Blackwater My other half would be a little upset if I drove 1,000 km and did not come home.
If you decide to meet closer than I will see what I can do. My plan this Sat or Sun is to take a drive to Blackdown Tableland National Park, 183 km west of Rockhampton (35 km east of Blackwater). The road is described as "To reach the park entrance shelter, follow the sealed road to the top of the tableland. Beware! The 6 km road from the base of the tableland is winding and climbs steeply. It is not suitable for towing heavy trailers or caravans." http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/blackdown-tableland/about.html.

That'll be a bit of a bugga - 6 km of winding road - best you leave the caravan behind.

I'll try and be at the start of the 6km at around 0600 so hopefully the caravan type people will still be asleep, I will just have to contend with 4WD's. However I can do it a few times to try and get a free run if it is worth it.
