Apologies for my last post, I was being a bastard. The OP's query reminded me of something that I read years ago (It related to motorcycles same, same).

My MX-5 is definitely fun. No questions. Every time I get in it and drive it. It puts a smile on my face.
Whether its giving it a little bit in 1st or 2nd or downshifting and then accelerating (safely) out of a corner.
There isn't a day that goes by when I have dríven it directly to work. There's always a detour or an extended drive to eventually get to the same destination.
The other times that drive my other car to work. (Subaru Liberty GT-B. 2.5L Turbo) So you would think that would be fun? well your wrong. Its boring as bat sh*t.
Its straight to work with no smiles no detours and thinking the whole way I with I was in the MX-5.

So In short, Yes....... Cars are fun.....IMHO anyway.......at least MX-5's are, and it doesn't matter if its a $2000 NA or a $50,000 NC. Take the roof off, rev the thing to 6 grand and watch the smile on your face appear.

thats a good rap from Bear and it seems to capture that cars are not just all about KW's and spoilers etc. Thats what the designers / engineers of the MX5 aimed at -ie a sports car that reflected an essence of fun and enjoyment.

How can you say that a Subaru is boring as batshit to drive? Come on man Subie's are a great car. Granted it doesnt handle quit as well (stock) as an mx5 and the steering isnt as quick or responsive but they are still a great car. Each to their own I guess.

Exactly what Iv been thinking since I first saw this thread. If you dont find driving and cars fun then you clearly arent a car person. I can have fun in a 1L shoe box with 20 yr old suspension or a car with 300 hp or a car with razor sharp handling. Hell I even find driving the LandCruiser at work out in the hinterland fun.
