I have been reading your garage thread for a while now, car looks sweet! Any chance you will be running with the other SE guys at the club events?

Thanks. I will eventually get to the club events... When my car is running...

And1 was the first SE owner I met after I bought my car in late 2012.
We talked about mods and disadvantages and agreed that the ECU was critical.

Now look where we all are!

Congrats Andy and welcome!

Thanks Kenny! Only reason I've jumped on it was because Adaptronic gave me an offer I couldn't refuse

Great thread guys
I'm still building up my mod collection, as Kenny pointed out 8) before I do it all at once, like sailaholic mentioned; that way I'm not doing it on the fly - that's my theory anyway.

Right now as I use mine as a daily driver, I want to maintain driveability and reliability.

Also - after lapping around Barbagallo the other weekend, there was at least a second of improvement just in my driving style/technique (0...hahaha); even before I mod the car; so my plan is at the moment to leave the engine stock and improve my braking and cornering techniques; part of this will involve installation of the Cusco's I have bought

What I'm trying to achieve with my mods is a more linear powerband that comes on earlier, and a (slightly) improved handling car
Current mods/items procured
Lightweight 15" SSRs with KU36 for club events
Lightweight 16" SSRs for commuting (you'd think I was a SSR fan...YES!) 8)
Cusco Zero 2e's with e-con (can stiffen it up for event-day, and then back it off for commuting....or that's the plan anyway)
NitroDann 3" exhaust, TBI

Yet to get:
Autmotive plus Rollbar
Larger Intercooler (to add reliability / cooling)
BEGI CAI (come on Dave - get yours in so I can see how good it is !!!)
Haltech ECU + Loom
I guess if I get the Haltech then I'll be up for injectors .. ?

I agree that it's great we have a few SE's now doing club events, as it gives us a good baseline since our cars are very similar...except I think Kenny now has the technology jump on me  as his ECU appears to be now sorted

Can't wait for Andy to show up with his !

A photoshoot is a great idea; getting us all together sounds like a challenge..

...Better get back to work....
Cheers

Yep, all sorted! Drive-ability has improved significantly!
Haha, I may have a faster car, but I'm not a fast driver :(
Still plenty to learn and confidence to gain. It's been a fun journey though :)

Yeah, but you're eliminating the cars performance as an issue.
Drivability adds confidence.
Confidence adds speed.

It's all good !

All you boys have a leg up on me  . You're cars all move atm...

Back on topic though, my car did the same thing when it was running. Almost like a boost cut at higher rpms.

Sounds like the stock SE is nothing to get excited about. Nitrodann is right again. :P

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Maybe but at least I won't have issues from the cops when I tweak it.

Nothing to sing and dance about.
170 hp atw. Though a quick search netted things like the Hyperdrive dyno "reading low" and phrase "heart breaker" - it's a Dyno Dynamics not the Dynapack (hub one).

I was a little concerned at the start but I'm not anymore. Started find threads about people going to other dyno's to get "better" numbers haha.
When Okibi's car goes on the dyno (soon), we'll find out for sure!

But really, I don't think anything is wrong. It is just a tuning tool at the end of the day.
