dreaded mistake of removing reverse linkage bolt

ok accidentally removed reverse linkage bolt instead of fill plug on a 6speed NB8B gear box
have gearbox out of car bell housing split off trying to sit linkage back in for reverse gear having trouble keeping it there when putting bell housing back on and slide bolt back in
ANY TIPS? :shock: :|

I've got my gear bell housing off just having trouble getting the linkage bit to sit and stay there while putting the slide in
Have tried grease and vaso

Sorry can't offer any advice :cry: when I was putting my exhaust on, I grabbed a marker pen a wrote a note for any mechanic who might consider undoing it.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Whoa, now I'm scared to remove bolts on my gearbox haha

Does the box still work with out it?

Nope. When that bolt is removed a pile of witchcraft inside the gearbox falls out of place.

I wouldn't risk it the linkage piece is just sitting in the gear box could and probably would bounce around and jam the gearbox

To anyone that has this problem Make sure slide and hole through linkage is smooth and clean of any bers
use supa glue to hold linkage in place on top and bottom
Then bellhousing back on and put slide back in and should be OK
