Very nice Danny, need to see it in place to get a better idea of how it all lines up and really appreciate the effort you've gone to.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I am. Work life these days sees me predominantly wearing a commercial/corporate hat so I really enjoy when I can find time to work on this project.

The past week has seen more work on the water pump assembly and subsequent plumbing progressing further. The water pump mounting bracket has been zip tied in because the hoses will dictate its final position. A remote mount oil filter head is positioned just forward of the water pump assembly.

There is a good amount of clearance between the heat exhanger and the water pump assemblies.

All the dash 20 coolant lines have been completed. This line is from the engine to the radiator.

The forward mounting of the front splitter/diffuser has also been sorted.

My next design job is the intake plenum/filter housing.

NC Track Car - In the Build

The tax man!

+1 for pre peg awesomeness. Though it would almost look out of place in the hand fabed perfection of the rest of the engine bay.

The tax man doesn't fund sh1t! I've never had the tax man give me money without me deciding to spend it first! :P

Thanks Nick. There may well some pre-preg awesomeness before the car hits the track.

I hope so...no...I expect so....AMB Aero is on the job! :D

This will be an interesting aero project as one can't just go and wind up the the boost to offset an increase in drag (resulting from an increase in downforce). The aero has to be efficient on this car for it to be competitive (ignoring the competancy of the driver of course :P ).

Cheers,
Danny

No progress actually on the car this week, but I did get the intake plenum/air box design sorted.

This is the whole assembly which includes a K&N panel filter that's sandwiched between the two halves. The latches are the same ones that I'm using to tie the ducted heat exchanger assembly together.

If all goes to plan the rest of the oil/coolant plumbing will be finished by weeks end. Hopefully then the wiring can begin. I expect it to take a couple of weeks to get the materials in so that the intake plenum can be fabricated.

Cheers,
Danny
