Hi All,
I've previously owned and installed an AGI bolt on half cage, to provide some roll over protection for club motorsport (no door to door), so the AGI cage is my only reference point.
I've also just moved to Qld and am not sure what events I'll participate in. I'd like to do some sprints and hillclimbs as well as continuing autotests and motorkhana.
Considering the following:
Ease of fitment and removal
Width and height
Interference with seat travel and seat belts
Mounting point strength
Must retain soft top
Provision for harness mointing points
Compliance with cams/aasa and dept transport requirements.
What's out there and what have your experiences been?
Has any one put their's to the ultimate test?
Anything I've forgotten?
Bolt in Half Cage - thoughts and opinions?

MX5 Plus (Site Sponsor) has some options for a roll bar. You have just missed their sale however you maybe able to convince them to extend it...
I have the Single Hoop Tall-Boy and it fits under a hardtop. Note the roll bars do not come with a CAMS certificate but have been made to CAMS spec.
CAMS Spec Single hoop "Tall-Boy" bar. It is built with single diagonal braces and CAMS spec materials and shape. Unpainted.
Single hoop "Tall-Boy" bar ideal for race seats. It is built with 2 diagonal braces and CAMS spec materials and shape. Unpainted

I got one of these, took me and my 13yr old daughter about 3 hours to fit, easy as.
Being in QLD you need a roll bar that DOESNT use a seat belt point for mounting, the MX5 plus one ticks all the boxes to be street legal in QLD.

You can go AGI, Brown Davis, Automotive Plus or completely custom...not much else out there to be honest.
Check the CAMS manual for compliance, you are looking at Section 13 for a type 2 cage: http://docs.cams.com.au/Manual/GeneralR ... 2014-1.pdf

Now you're in Brisbane go visit MX5 Plus / Automotive Plus.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
