There's adjustment in basically 4 places.
The catch (the metal loop on the lid)
The latch (the mechanism inside the boot that grabs the catch)
Left hinge, right hinge.
Usually the latch/catch combination are to blame if the lid sits up slightly, just loosen the bolts, shift the latch mechanism down a little, then retighten the bolts.
The other possibility is that the lid is sitting a little far back (meaning the angles are slightly off, making it look like there's a gap)
To fix that you can loosen off the 2 bolts on either hinge and then move the bootlid back and forth to see how it lines up, tighten them when it looks ok.'
Then re-check the locking latches etc.
If none of that works, there's a chance that the bootlid, or hinges on the car, have been bent slightly.
It's also worth putting a little bit of grease on the latch loop bit, just to make it easier to close, and to wear a bit less.
