Hi guys, I noticed that my boot lid won't close probably. Here are some pictures. I suspect that the boot lid hook has damaged and clipped, that might be the reason so the boot lid won't close probably.
And these pictures shown the lid can be close probably but I have to press my hand on top

Have you checked that the rear boot hinges are tight, aligned and not restricted by anything?
Also check the alignment and tightness of the latch bolts.

I have checked a few times, everything are fine. Could that bcause the bootlid was from another MX5?

Adjust the bit on the back of the boot if you want it to close lower, just be careful you don't over adjust it and do something that stops you opening your boot.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: My boot lid won't close probably, help please
There's adjustment in basically 4 places.
The catch (the metal loop on the lid)
The latch (the mechanism inside the boot that grabs the catch)
Left hinge, right hinge.
Usually the latch/catch combination are to blame if the lid sits up slightly, just loosen the bolts, shift the latch mechanism down a little, then retighten the bolts.
The other possibility is that the lid is sitting a little far back (meaning the angles are slightly off, making it look like there's a gap)
To fix that you can loosen off the 2 bolts on either hinge and then move the bootlid back and forth to see how it lines up, tighten them when it looks ok.'
Then re-check the locking latches etc.
If none of that works, there's a chance that the bootlid, or hinges on the car, have been bent slightly.
It's also worth putting a little bit of grease on the latch loop bit, just to make it easier to close, and to wear a bit less.

Tesco,
If you still can't get it to fit correctly, let me know and we can organise a time to adjust it.

Hey guys, the problem solved, I went to my friend's shop this morning and he did everything he could, then he use the hummer to tap the hook two twice then now the boot lid can fully closed, very interesting way to fix it. =)
