Re: My Black NB8A
There goes our close track rivalry. Maybe I'll have to go turbo...
Looking forward to seeing how this goes.

Plan for idle is to run a 1200 RPM idle and not bother with trying to work an idle speed control system.

Re: My Black NB8A
And Spencer I don't plan to fit anything before the Nov 3rd track day so we will have one last chance to battle before I do anything.

I'll be at a mate's wedding in Bathurst so it'll be next year before we battle on track again.

Picked up a motor suitable for a rebuild today and a set of racing Beat sway bars.

Re: My Black NB8A
Did a club track day yesterday, lowered my PB down to a 1:16.1 on a day not ideal for fast times, however a check at the end of the day revealed that my current set of Kumho KU36's are down to the wear indicators. While I have been most happy with their performance, yesterday I felt the biggest block to improving my times much further was a lack of tyre grip.
So I have ordered a set of Kumho KU31's to go on the 6ULs as a road set and in a couple of months closer to the next track day a set of Kumho V70A's will be going on my standard wheels as a track set.

Re: My Black NB8A
Added a new sticker today and decided to give a bit of an update.
New owners at work have meant a reduction in my hours so the engine build and the set of R-spec tyres has been placed on hold until more work or a better paying job can be obtained.

Re: My Black NB8A
Went to the drags tonight, was curious to see how much of an improvement all the mods I have made would make to my 1/4 mile time.
Turns out an LSD, full exhaust system and new suspension is good for a whole tenth of a second . PB is now a 15.6@141.

Re: My Black NB8A
I just spun both wheels instead of one, better tyres would help lower my ET.

Re: My Black NB8A
Lucky you are OK and it did not come through the windscreen.
The car looks a little sad.
Hope you can get it fixed up soon.

Really unlucky mate, but at the same time fortunate that it didn't enter the cabin.
Rebuild bigger and better?
