Re: NSW MX5 Cup - First round open
Is it 3 races, or 4?
Looking at the schedule on the Wakefield Park website, it includes:
8.15am Mazda MX5 Cup Qualifying 10 min
10.20am Mazda MX5 Cup Race 1 10 laps
1.05pm Mazda MX5 Cup Race 2 10 Laps
3.55pm Mazda MX5 Cup Race 3 10 Laps
5.25pm Mazda MX5 Cup Race 3 10 Laps
So it looks like 4 races, with a cut&paste mistake on the description of the 4th race.

Re: NSW MX5 Cup - First round open
With just over 2 1/2 weeks to go until the first round of the MX-5 Cup, a check-list for you:
1. Got your AASA or Cams race licence? They can be obtained in a week – but you will need to get on it!
2. Got your Car AASA logbooked? Ditto the above!
3. You will need a red P plate for the rear of your car. Your local Servo or RMS office will have these.
4. Submitted your entry to Wakefield for the round, and to us for the MX-5 Cup?
5. Reserved your race number?
6. Secured all of your safety gear:
a. Race seat – winged style recommended
b. Harness – 5 point minimum
c. Bonnet pins, tow points and kill switch
d. Stickers – race numbers, tow points, battery and kill switch
e. Helmet, suit, gloves, boots to FIA standard
f. HANS or similar – not mandatory but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
7. Don’t forget your pre-race check, of your car and all your gear.
If you need a hand with any of the above, call / email / pm! You should have been appointed a buddy, that is what they are for.
Get going!

CLARIFICATION RE: FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Afternoon all
A point of clarification, as we have been asked several times, regarding fire extinguishers.
They are NOT required in competing vehicles, by AASA or Cams, in race events. However, we do recommend one for the car, and also especially for the pits/garage.
Thanks
Craig.

Re: NSW MX5 Cup - First round open
Presumably we have to get our cars scrutineered before qualifying at 8:15am, including a 15ish minute pause from 7:40am for the drivers briefing.
Any idea what time on Saturday scrutineering starts?

DRIVERS BRIEFING MX-5 Cup
Hello all
Saturday morning is going to be busy, however Cup competitors are required to attend an MX-5 Cup drivers briefing. We are mindful of the tight schedule for the morning.
This will take place at 8.40am, after qualifying, in the cafeteria.
All competitors are required to attend, unless they are required for one of the 300 practice sessions.
Primarily we wish to reinforce the Cup Code of Conduct, reiterate the need for consideration to be given to cars displaying a red P Plate, and answer any questions you may have.
Don't forget committee members will be located in garages 18 and 24, for collection of your (mandatory) Cup sticker, and should you have any questions.
See you there.
