Hey all,
Slowly going through my MX5 fixing everything, and the drivers side door won't lock from inside the cabin. Locks fine with the key though.
I took off the trim and looks like that the plastic piece the lock connects too has broken,
Its the yellow piece in this picture.

Any ideas on where to get one? Or what they are called?
And do you think it would be a RWC issue...I can't see anything about it in the PDF on vicroads website

Not sure if it's a RWC issue, I know the doorhandles must work, but not sure if the lock needs to?
as for the part, it's probably simpler to buy a replacement door handle, places normally won't sell just a little bit like that on it's own.
Or try a wrecking yard, the part was likely used on other Mazdas.
Imlach's on Centre road have always been good to me, and they have a decent range.
Or Allmaz for any MX5 specific bits.

Depending on where you are in Melb, Allmaz, 492 Clayton Rd, Clayton, 9544 7044, or contact a forumite that has advertised wrecking their NA. Re RWC, I'd be very surprised if they check if the inside slide locks the door from the inside.

first point of call is Mazda spare parts to see if the items is serviced- don't assume they do not carry it. They will look up the schematics to id the p/nbr.It look to me as a standalone component.
Wreckers of course but some are not very helpful for small items. It looks like a right angle retainer- there is some chance that a similiar or similar item is procurable- maybe on line or maybe try Bursons for a lead. Its even possible its repairable.
I cannot see it being a rwc issue and who is going to check it anyway.

important that it unlocks from the inside(especially if car is burning,as happened to my cousin).these clips are used on many cars,I used Hyundai ones on mine, bought from the local ford dealership, around $3 from memory.

Any idea's of part numbers or something?
I am not sure how to describe it to a dealer. "I need the plastic thingy that locks my doors"

I ended up going to a buddies house, he had seen it before.
Checked my door out and the clip wasn't broken.
Just had come out, so he popped it in and all good since!
