Just a quick post about something that turned out not to be a PITA. My clutch master cylinder has been weeping slightly for a couple of years. I bought a seal kit and then kept putting if off as the book and stuff on the web said it was a painful job, suggestions about taking out the drivers seat etc. Finally I decided to stop procrastinating and fix it. I was really no problem at all, even with one nut on each side of the fire wall (that sounds wrong and painful). Getting the wiring harness in the engine bay out of the way made things a bit easier in replacing the cylinder and I should have bled it on the bench first, but otherwise no big deal. It would have been even easier if I did in January when I had the engine and gearbox out. I realised later that the stuff I had been reading was about left hand drive cars where I guess it really is a PITA.
