Where to go for Driver Training?

Hey guys,

No doubt most of you have noticed my few posts I've made since getting my MX, I decided that getting advanced driver training and track driver training would be a good idea to help to better learn how to handle and drive these lovely machines.

I've done the Basic Driver training through SDT and it was great, however I did that in a FWD car so I wanted to know who would be a good option to go through for advance driver training and if there is such a thing, track driver training (as I wish to do track events in the car every now and then).

Also any tips on how to learn to drive these is appreciated

I'm yet to hear a negative comment about the training offered by Paul Stokell and his team of instructors at www.drivingevents.com.au. They do defensive driving courses, advanced driving courses, in your car or theirs, you can opt to either have an instructor every few sessions or pay more for one-on-one instruction for your whole time. Half days or full days available, Lakeside, Queensland Raceway, Morgan Park, and the driver training centre at Mt Cotton are all tracks they use. You can even opt to pay more to have a Performance Box or Video VBox fitted for your training so you can go back later and watch your inputs etc. A half day without any of the extra options will cost you $240, a full day will be just under $400.

Thanks, looking at the website I like the looks of the advanced driving academy and the track and training days they offer, shall look into it more!

Or, redo the SDT defensive course in your MX, you will benefit from it.

I do some part time instruction with SDT, so am biased

, but over the years I have averaged a course every three or four years, basically with each new car I bought.

I have done courses with SDT and Driving Management up here in Qld and Peter Finlay and another company way back when I lived in NSW.

All are beneficial to do repeat courses of when you get a ew car or just a refresher to get back out of bad habits.
