I'm going to be there morning only. Fingers crossed i don't break the car this time, plays up worst than a second hand lawnmower.

I put these on the car yesterday, so it will rain

No rain and I had a productive day...

Clubman 1:08.79 and sprint 1:05.48 as well as a few spins at turn 1 and one in the dipper on the sprint layout. Instead of a lap I'm going to put together a few examples of how not to take turn 1 at QR... Once at 140 and then again at about 130. Another good indicator was the car got to 170 down the main straight which is the 10 kmh slower than Lakeside on Monday, it is surprising what changing the wing angle from 15 AOA to zero AOA. However the trade off was downforce, hence the spins, a few suspension and tyre pressure adjustments and most of those issues were taken car of.

Also thanks to the people that made me feel welcome and offered some advice and tips :) My target fro the day was to get under 1:10 on clubman and I did that. The driver is getting more confident so the times should start to get quicker...

Good to hear you had a great day.

A few high speed spins really wakens you up hey haha?

My second time in the mx5 at QR I had a spin at turn 2 my mx decided to be in sync with the 180sx in front did a full 360 from about 125 km/h haha.

Some good pics up on facebook of your NA too.

Actually I enjoyed the spins :) no car damage and no ego damage :)

I have seen Danny's Facebook posts on automotive plus. I have offered Danny the keys to my car to prove that turn 1 can be taken at 140, stay tuned :)

I'm going to attend Round 2. The day was well run and organised.

Also good to meet you toppertee.

Mx5 plus must have build a good motor. seems to be 5-10kms quicker than mine on the straight. Power to weight eh!
There were some pretty quick cars out there. I had a good laugh, catching a couple of people in turn 6 then having them giving me the point by. Only to have them pull 4-5 lengths on the straight. I need a sticker, not all skylines have 500hp

Really good day a very well run. Hot as hell though.

Nice to put a face to the name  First time my car made it to the trailer under it's own power. LOL

Looking at the cause of the spins at turn 1 would be turning in too early. I'll have to work on this, maybe even donate to Doug to do a few laps next time I'm at QR.

A bit late, but here is my fastest lap (yes it is slow)... Round 2 I want to get below 1:08.

There's definitely a comfortable 8 tenths in turns 1-3 alone I reckon, very wide arc through the dipper would be costing you quite a bit. T2 needs a slightly later apex and t1 is too slow as well, if only by a few kmh. Seat time will get you a 1:07.X no trouble. Plus you are far too gentle on the brakes at all points. Your G meter is showing peaks of around 0.7G under brakes, rather than long light applications of brake you want to use all of the possible acceleration space into the corner, a quick, hard jab on the brakes down to your apex speed, and then back on the throttle again. By braking long and light you lose time on entry where you could still be accelerating.

No argument from me on turn 1 and 2. Previously I carried much more speed when it was a 1.6.. I agree I'm turning in too early on 1 and 2.

This would be nice to do...

Go the rexie haha, see them gear changes  super quick.

I turn in early on turn 2 as well, I know I do it too and each time I do it it really annoys me as I keep telling myself to turn in a tiny bit later haha
