Suspension springs

Postby vfrpete » Sun Feb 16, 2014 9:50 am

Hi,
Question? Do standard mazda springs have problems with breaking or sagging, i have a 2001 nb that needs shockies replaced. I dont want to lower the car as i live in the country [ poor roads ] but i want to get the suspension right the first time, any thoughts anyone?
Thanks

I would just replace the shocks mate with some decent quality units and leave the standard springs if you are happy with the spring rate. Standard springs will soak up bumps quite well.

It's pretty rare for MX5 standard springs to sag significantly or break, even with advanced old age. People here want to change them all the time because they want lower/stiffer, not because they've failed.

Shocks do have a more limited life. Just update them.
