So I have a NB8B/C drivers seat that I'm wanting to fit into my NA8.
As some of you maybe aware the seatbelt stalk in an NA8 attaches to the seat frame and not the floor of the car as in the NA6. Not only does it attach to the seat frame, it also has attaches to a 'sliding' part as per the photo below.

Can anyone tell me if this 'slider' part is actually needed when using an NB8B seat?
Also, if the 'slider' part is needed, how do you align it with the attachment point on the body, as per the photo below?

Any other hits would be appreciated.
TIA

Re: question re fitting an NB8B seat into an NA8
Been a few threads on this one.
I put NB8B seats in my NA8 which is now owned by SaiHayashi.
From memory, you don't need the sliders for the NB8B seats, in fact I dont think you can even get them to fit.
You need seatbelt stalks from an NA6. You can either look for some second hand, or you can buy them brand spanking new from MX5 Mania (or I suppose Mazda) but they're $68 each... http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product1386.htm
The holes with captive nuts are under the NA8 carpet in the same spot as they are in the NA6. You need to cut holes / flaps in the carpet, remove a rubber plug and screw the stalks in.

Re: question re fitting an NB8B seat into an NA8
^not necessary.
The NA8 stalk/slider/rails are not used.
The NA8 seatbelt buckle directly clips into the NB stalks, that are attached to the side of the NB seat/rail.
So you just need to make sure you buy the nb seats complete with rails and buckle.

Re: question re fitting an NB8B seat into an NA8
Thanks Marty and Emily,
I bought the NB8B seat without the rails or NB stalk. The NA8 stalk does attach to the side of the NB seat frame, but is short and therefore not the easiest to buckle into. Might try Allmaz wreckers and see what they have.

Ah yes sorry, I was assuming you couldn't get NB8B seats with stalks. Mine came with none hence my NA6 stalk solution. Good luck.
