I just installed my FM Stage 2 big brake kit; what an improvement over the worn out stock 1.6l brakes. Installed, bedded in the rotors / pads as per instruction, disc runout is ok, they pull up really well and when I took it to the AEM event over the weekend they didnt make a peep. Now I have them on the street they are singing the song of their people on light and medium application; the only solution is to brake late and hard. I really need to quieten these brakes down, got any ideas?
The highlights are...
Wilwood Dynalite 4-piston calipers and Wilwood BP-10 pads front
Wilwood Powerlite 4-piston calipers and Wilwood Polymatrix E pads rear
two-piece 11" slotted Spec-37 front rotors
one-piece 11" slotted rear rotors
Solutions?
A well known shop that specialises in fast street and competition cars recommended that I should give the rotors a very light skim.
Wilwood also make an anti-vibrations shim
Change pads
Deal with it
Wilwood kit squealing, Whats the solution?

BP-10 pads are rubbish - see MINX's comments: http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=32900&start=155
I got these with my Wilwoods too and didn't even bother fitting them - I use 1521's for DD and XP-10 for the track.

Sounds like the song of road pads that have been used for motorsport and are glazed.

Sounds like I'm giving Deckspeed a call for some 1521's and XP-10s. Considering they're rubbish the BP10s were miles better than the junk in the old calipers.
Will pull out the pads this week and clean them up while I wait for my new pads. Thanks guys
