Here is what the car looks like about two weeks ago. Car is getting a full back to bare metal respray, funded by the paint company that painted it around two years ago.

Back in 2012 I had the car resprayed. The paint never looked quite right up close. The car only travelled 700kms in the first twelve months. Then in the space of about 6 months I did about 2000kms. In that time the paint started to fail, it was chipping very easily and each chip would then allow the surrounding paint to lift. Back to the panel shop, they took the fight to the paint company who, after about 4 months of arguing, have agreed to repaint the car. So it's gone back to bare metal and being done again with a high quality paint. I'm putting in some extra $$'s and having a ceramic clear coat put on. I was watching a mega factories episode of the Ferrari factory and they spoke about the ceramic clear cost they use, it's much harder than normal clear so more scratch and chip resistant and has a much higher gloss.

I've also had the corner reflectors deleted and holes professionally plastic welded up and also deleted the antenna on the rear quarter. Car has been in the shop for two weeks now and will be another two weeks away. While the guards are off I've also installed a pair of Frog Arms.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Wish I could respray my car too. How is the CAI? Did you make a hole behind the headlight like the factory?

So the car had it's full back to bare metal respray in August last year, with the ceramic clear coat it looks exceptional!

In September last year I bought a Lotus Elise.... so I drove the MX5 home from the paint shop and since then it's been out for a drive once.

So, I'm considering selling the car... I've held onto it as I couldn't bring myself to sell the car. It is in such amazing condition that I just couldn't bare to see it drive away.

In reality, I'm not using it, and it's just not right to have it and not use it. So I think it's time it had a new lover... I mean owner.

This car is spectacular, in and out and to drive. There is no better word to describe the car.

So I'll probably get some pics taken shortly and get it up here for sale. This car will suit the most fastidious and anal retentive owner. You won't find one like it.
