Muffler recommendations

Postby DanZig » Fri Jan 31, 2014 12:40 pm

Hey all,

I'm in the process of gathering the parts to make up a new exhaust for my turbo NA6. I've so far purchased the piping, flanges and a hiflow cat but I'm stuck on what mufflers to use. For those who've built their own I'm after suggestions as to what brand, size and how many I'm going to need to suits my requirements? I'll be doing it in 2.5" mild steel and plan to keep it relatively quiet but flow well.

Thanks

If you want it quiet you need a BIG muffler. Always go for straight through. if you cannot roll a ball through it don't put it on. Match it to the size of the rest of the system internally.

Been pretty happy with my Varex muffler, nice note and added benefit of being able to go to stealth mode when pulling into the street or an booze bus.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
