Why vacuum line into the intake tube?

Postby 22Silver » Thu Jan 23, 2014 8:56 pm

Just curious, I was tightening one of my accessory belts cause it was slipping, and realized I had no idea why the intake tube would need to be connected in the middle, to a vacuum from the engine?

Possibly? Looks a little different on an NB8A
In this photo the tube is horizontally in line with the radiator cap, coming out of the back side of the intake tube

There's also what looks like a plug just to the right of it.

The pipe is part of the PCV system.

It bascally lets the engine suck in and burn off the oily vapours in the camcase.

also, my engine bay hasn't looked that clean in years. :P
