I like it but it looks just like a photoshop mock up and not like a prototype.

That's exactly what it is. A photoshopped mock-up

True.... Still looks alright though!

Be another year before we get to see the real thing though......

There are plenty of ideas of what the new MX5 will look like here's one I saw the other day on the internet

The Mazda emblem looking huge, but not as huge as the A45 three point star Merc. I hope Mazda, or any car manufacturer, is not going to play emblem size wars with Mercedes.

Let them embarrass themselves down some modesty :P

The emblem on Mazdas have been on the increase for awhile now

From NB8A to NB8B the emblem grew

To the NC1 I believe it grew again not sure about NC2 or 3 though

But the new Mazdas have a bigger emblem in the middle if the grille just like that pic

I hear they just missed the 1000kg aim with the soft and hard convertible versions.

But the later to be release hardtop version with more boot space and removed convertible stuff did. (just)

i "hear" they didn't get even close... around 2400lbs (1090kg). It's just too exxy to reduce weight with expensive materials and make the car bigger.

No turbo, just skyactiv 1.5 or 2L engines

Photoshop or not, I'd be happy if it turned out looking like that. I like the bit where it says "The look is different from that used on Mazda's hatches and sedans." It's always worried me that they'd want to take that over the top Kodo big fronted look into a small sports car.

I doubt the power figures claimed in that article.

If so, i would be ecstatic, but I am still highly sceptical.

The 'concept'/photshop images look very Merc/AMG-like

Arty that one is practically an NC with a different front bumper & headlights.

Why do concept artists keep reusing the NC fenders in their concepts? that was mazda's previous gen design language. Why don't they at least a small amount of research before they go to the effort of drawing something?
