I have just received this email.
I'm not sure if this will impact club/sprints BUT HANS or other suitable devices will be made compulsory in all race events held at Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Park from 2014
Are club/sprints a 'race' event?

In light of last year's announcement that HANS or other suitable devices will be made compulsory in all race events held at Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Park from 2014, Queensland Raceways has secured a batch of devices at a heavily discounted price to assist competitors in the conversion.
HANS(r) or Head and Neck Support is the revolutionary safety device chosen by racers worldwide for use in competitive motorsport and trackdays. The HANS(r) device is now compulsory for use in F1, WRC, A1GP, DTM, WTCC, FIA GT and many national and international series worldwide and is chosen by many racers as an essential item of safety wear even when not mandatory in their chosen series.
The 20 degree Club Series device has been developed to offer a more economical HANS for the clubman competitor for use in rallying and circuit racing. While more economical this version offers all the safety standards of the far more expensive versions but at a more economical price.
The Club Series device is manufactured from plastic in an injection moulded construction, but unlike other plastic Sport Devices (1160grms) and Defnder(1200grms) on the market it weighs in at a much lighter 950gm's, some 30% lighter, and is only 100gm's heavier than the carbon Racing Series.
The Club Series is FIA homologated and uses the same evolution design as incorporated on the Racing Series, making it far more comfortable to wear, and easier to use in the car due to it wider seat belt slots. This device is available in medium and extra large sizes, and comes as standard with sliding tethers offering the user full head rotation when connected to a helmet.
o Exceptional Safety Performance
o Lighter & Less Bulky Than Previous Sport Model
o Sliding Tether System
o Protective Storage Bag
o 20° Recline (Saloon & Sports Car use)
o 950g Weight
We currently have limited stocks available so orders will be on a first-in basis. Special price is for current QR Licence holders only.

Re: SPECIAL PRICE - HANS CLUB SERIES RANGE FOR QR LICENCE HO
The same price with posts that I paid for a Club II HANS from Demon Tweeks delivered, so not to bad.
Just remember you must have a SA2005 or better, preferably a SA2010H, rated helmet for the HANS devices.
And if you are only doing the club days and sprints the HANS isn't mandatory, and shouldn't really be worn unless you have a proper fixed back race seat and harness with roll bar or cage.
