mounted the front 4 points but the back 2 legs that go to my boot were difficult, dont know how to get nut+ sandwich plate up from the underneath of the car, let alone a socket, so im just going to weld those in :)

the dint in my bonnet has SLIGHTLY turned the bonnet locking mechanism and its been quite hard to operate and i dont think i would trust it now going 200km/h :(. so i have sparco bonnet pins to go in today!excited!

Not sure that the Sparco Bonnet Pins are legal since they protrude from the bonnet in a "dangerous manner".

Aerocatch pins are what you need since these are almost flush-mount.

7 days till lakeside!
picked up some penrite brake fluid and ordered brembo pads and sparco harness :)
last time my brakes were really holding me back from keeping up consistant times, as they would change so much from lap one to five. we will see how it goes :)

currently looking into a new turbo setup, dont know what to use though. been thinking t28 , what they use from a stock 15, if anyone has some recomendations for a turbo that is great between 300-400hp , give me a shout!

Borg Warner EFR series ;^)

You're going to need to build your engine to prevent it from going

since 250rwhp is generally considered to be the upper limit of our stock internals.

Also, 300rwhp is considered to be the upper limit of our stock 6-speed gearboxes for hard track work. No-one seems to have figured out what does work reliably above 300rwhp - Bob Bundy on MT.net has gone few quite a few 6-speed gearboxes.

Spend some time researching this on MT.net, it'll save you lots of time and $$$.

What aftermarket ECU are you thinking of to manage this?

>300rwhp is a LOT for an MX5. I don't think I'll go anywhere near it since it's unusable power - the wheels are just going to spin. I chose the Borg Warner EFR6258 which is capable of 450rwhp but spools like a GT2554 or the stock MSM/SE's IHI turbo and will probably only run it up to 280rwhp - this should ensure that I don't break the gearbox at the track and the turbo will barely be breaking a sweat which is great from a reliability standpoint.

Have a read of Charlie's build thread to get an understanding of what you can do.

yea ive read charlies whole thread,
and ime just sayin that number 300+, i have never been in a car that powerful nor do i know how it feels so im punching above my weight there. just thourght it would be cool haha. and yea ive read all of urs simon and would love the same turbo as you, even the one below it i think would be good enough( i think there is one below urs?)
i have 200k on the clock now and dont really know how that would handle the "250" mark. the same? alot less? slightly less? dont have the money to full blown do the engine atm so mabye keep it around 250 then build it if something breaks.

small update, put the new wheel in.
pretty happy with it, airbag light flashes non stop but meh, need to get a button for the horn as well some time i guess. and yes. it is blue which does not go with anything else in my car. but im thinking of stripping and painting the whole inside of my car blue so the wheel doesnt look weird. we will see.
