Car scissor lift - anyone know anything about these?

Saw this on eBay
Apparently a new release and Australian made by hero auto hoists Australia
Anyone know anything about them?
Better than a car Jack but not as good or as expensive as a hoist - but could be ok for those of us with small garages.
What do people think?

I've been looking for something like this as well, Ezcar looks really good but getting it to Australia would be expensive.

The Hero one says you can lift all 4 wheels off the ground but most of the pics show either front of back in the air so I wasn't sure if you could lock the angle of the platform.
I'd love to hear from someone who has used one before.

I'm very keen to put a lift in when I build the new house. Am thinking of a scissor lift so was very interested to see this topic.
Not sure these are what I'm looking for. Appears a wee bit flimsy for my liking and I'd want some extra assurance before I climbed underneath and started reefing on things.
Personally I'd also rather something that I can go from one end of the car to the other. Even if I do have to go over a small bump for hydraulics or cabling.

The Ezcar lift does look more sturdy, but you are right getting it to Australia might be expensive.
I travel to the US a couple of times each year, but at 60kgs or 70kgs per unit, I don't think that helps much.

Yeah I would not really fancy really doing heavy work on the car on this hoist, looks fine for doing oil changes and swapping wheels over and the like.

When you build just get the floor of your garage appropriately reinforced and buy a proper two post lift, really easy to find second hand for $1500 or so.

That's the one I decided was probably the best but cost + S&H is prohibitive

Maybe we can convince NitroDann to knock up something similar - they'd come in handy when installing his exhausts.

Might be an isolated example but I don't want to be a second one :-)

Think I will stay with jack stands until I get a garage that can fit a hoist

You would have to ask yourself would you lift a car like this and how safe do you think it is? Personally I would be very nervous about lifting it under the sills.

To me they don't look like they give you THAT much more height than stands, but with a lot more cost.

I'm just using stands on mine and it looks to be about the same height as with this.

Why? This is how all 2 post hoists work. Apart from the crossmembers, the sills are the strongest part of the car.
