Fibreglass Repairer needed in Brisbane

Postby Gladiator » Mon Jan 06, 2014 4:19 pm

Hi All

I'm wondering if there's anyone one here in the Brisbane area that has experience with repairing front bars.

I have picked up this Mazdaspeed front bar at a virtual give away price, but as you can see it's a tad sad.

I've had zero experience with fibreglass, and I don't want to waste almost $40 a on small repair kit & some acetone (which may or may not be enough to do the job), only to find out I'm a lousy fibreglasser. I can do the bogging, sanding & painting, But I want to get someone else to do the glass or even guide me doing it.

I'm more than happy to pay a fair price.

Anyone up for it?
Cheers
Andrew

Gladiator it will probably cost $40 for somebody to give you a decent quote to repair it :)

I was very nervous when I decided to build my ply/fibreglass splitter, in the end there was nothing to worry about. The important parts are getting the mixture right and making sure there are no air bubbles trapped. I have some spare fibreglass stuff at home if you want to come down and try your luck :)

However, I would make a test fit on your car first and gaffer tape/cable tie it together so that when you do the repairs it will fit. I have a fibreglass front nose at home that somebody did some repairs on, however it does not fit a stock NA6 anymore. It has been on my to do list for a while to fit it and then bog/shape it to fit the NA6 I have at home.

Try to contact C.A.R.
He's hardly on here, but I believe he's provided a phone number recently in the for sale section.

Tell him I sent you
