I want to not loose any of this beautiful smoothness it has. Which means I will probably wait untill I can afford to do everything at once including a full standalone ecu and tuning time. I'm not the 1st to mod an SE so there is no point making mistakes others have.

Have to agree entirely with you here, it's pretty telling that everyone who gets an SE ends up doing almost exactly the same thing!
Which ECU solution are you looking at?

Wheels are staying until I can afford a set of 16x9 Work S1R Meister's.
And will get some things resprayed soon including a de-badge.

Nev, they aint the same wheels haha, Meisters have a stepped lip. And would be metallic silver, not polished/shadow chrome.
ECU wise, will go an Adaptronic I think, seems the best value with a lot of support. I am not interested in any DIY tuning whatsoever. Its not often that I say this haha but will leave that to the professionals.

I keep coming back to a 5 spoke design, like the OEM Racinghart rims are, as being the style that works best with the NB.

As for floor mats, check out mx5parts.co.uk as they seem to have quite a range available new for very reasonable prices.

Mine also came with non-standard floor mats..... but they're from an SP so I think I'll keep them!

Hahaha welllllll, yes spent a couple of days on the NA8, might post up some pics tomorrow.

Unfortunately I'm still on P plates, and in NSW that means no turbs

I jumped on this SE because it was phenomenally priced, and immaculate, but I still have to wait

I have applied for an exception, as in stock form the SE is actually really really slow. Waiting for the letter that should come any day now.

Bummer! I forgot about the P-plate thing..... Assuming you end up getting a letter of exemption will that restrict you from making any performance upgrades until you're off the P's?

Scenario..... you get a cranky Cop who pulls you over for no better reason than he sees a P-plater driving a turbo. You show him the letter so that's sweet but he then goes over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb, just because he's in one of those moods and has already pulled you over. Finds some mods and then defects the vehicle, or if they're legal, fines you for driving a vehicle you're authorised to drive because it's modded......

I know you were saying earlier one of the first things you wanted to do was a CAI and that's a pretty obvious mod.....

How much longer are you stuck on those dreaded P's?

if I get an exemption, I wont touch the car, no point pushing my luck, as its very possible to get pulled over and inspected.
I'll do things like get my hardtop painted, sound system, gear knob etc. Minor things that don't break the law lol.

Unfortunately not, they were not very impressed lol.
The rules in NSW are extremely murky, as far as I am aware each car is still at their discretion rather than a set power to weight.
So yeah big fat denial letter

Luckily an elderly neighbour who doesn't drive anymore had an empty garage offered me the spot free
So it is covered and protected, and I go and start it once a week.

Its not rego'd, as that would be a waste, so i'll get a blueslip when I'm due for fulls.
That means I have to keep it stock to not have any troubles with the blueslip :/
(not dealing with a "dodgy" blueslipper again lol, enough stress was had the red NA8)
