225 requires flares.

rightttt, so you say you dont want stretch or excessive camber, why buy stupid sized wheels then? In all seriousness.
Seems like you've dont zero reseach, good luck with that.

Because I like the wheels.... I'll buy something and "modify" it to suit what I want. Isn't that what we all modify cars for... And I did so my research, I know they are wheels made more for stance then anything else, but then if you think about it for a second, if I have the fender flares on to dial out the needed camber I will be able to fit 10" rear and 9" front 6ul's without any modification between switching wheels......... So in the end sick looking daily wheels and wide as ƒü¢k track wheels, I call that a successful mod

I just noticed you have an NA but want to run 245/40 tyres.

I don't believe that NAs can even run 8" 6ULs with 205/50/15s without a fender pull so 245/40's will need flares and spacers (front wheels will rub at full lock).

How much power does your car have that requires 245/40s?

Dunlop Direzzas 205/50/15 at ~150rwkw on my car have plenty of grip for DD (even in wet conditions) and probably on the track too.

It does very much depend on height but as Emily said, you've got buckley's chance of getting away with minimal camber and 225's without a decent pull. 205's might fit with just a roll but I seriously doubt it without some serious camber.

Check mloo's NA with 15x8 +0 and 195/55 to give you an idea.

Now imagine the wheel sticking out another 3.1m (8" vs 8.25") and another 10-50mm in tyre width at the tread. His tyres are already past the guard and he's got smaller tyres and wheels than you're planning on. It just isn't going to fly.

If you've bought them new, see if you can change the order to swap to the higher offset, see if they come in 20 or 25.

Omgpham has 225/45 on 8" with a 25 offset and 5mm spacers meaning 20 offset.
His is tight as, probably the look you want, doesn't need flares or stupid camber.

You are seriously misguided, that width and et will totally frock up the lovely handling of your vehicle. I doubt you will come to a solution that will be legal

Come on guys. He said he's running flares to make them fit and running 6uls for track work.

So they are going to fit what ever tires he uses.

Lokiel. I can personally guarantee NA can run 8" 6ul with 225 just fine on stock guards.

Anything special about your NA?

When I first got mine there were lots of reports that NAs needed guard rolling with 15x8s to accomodate 225's and some even had issues with 205s. Some of these issues may have been because guys were running "too much low" but they weren't all on CR.

Not mine but plohls.

Nothing special, but it certainly doesn't run lots of low. Still Lower then stock on coil overs but not wheels in guards low.

The only DOT legal tyre ... is NOT!

Postby oztrackdays » Mon Dec 30, 2013 9:53 pm

DOT is a USA thing. they aren't Highway approved over there either

It basically means they can use them in Autocross in a Certain Class for Drag racing as well.

the Hankook Z214 the one with the 2 lines and the Hoosier 2 lines etc ... are 100% not legal
on Australian roads. I have chewed through three sets of them 40 treadwear rating from memory.
