Just wondering if anyone has used this stuff ?

Seems that with all the cars in their collection, they found that over many years, that the original paint was wearing back to the undercoat. So they developed their own car care products which they say are very kind to OEM paint.

Perssonally I use Meguires on the MX5 and when I haven't I have regretted doing so and promptly thrown the product out. The only two things non-meguires in my collection of stuff is the Auto-Glyn spray that I use on the interior and the soft top (only becuase value for money I get more -larger bottle with autoglyn than meguires) and the turtle colour polish which is red and found that it does make my faded red look better after I used it. Granted I have still yet to try the new Meguires NXT.
Waiting until I use the meguires products that I have left before I buy the NXT to try.

I just polished the SP last night in preparation of the show and shine tomorrow. I had used Meguires religiously until 8 years ago when I was introduced to the wonders of Zymol. Then three years ago I was shown the Swissol range and haven't looked back. Both are so much easier to use then the Meguires products - although the NXT was fairly easy compared to the usual Meguirs stuff. The difference is that the quality products use vegetable and fruit essential oils to act as carriers of the carnauba (also higher quality carnaubas) - smells brilliant. The cheaper stuff, like Meguires, uses petrolium oils as carriers making the residue much more difficult to remove and buff into the paintwork.

The brother-in-law had some NXT to try on his blue S15 200SX. I did half the boot in NXT and half in Swissol. The Swissol definately had a sharper, deeper shine, while the NXT made the blue look darker which also worked really well on that colour. I'll have to ask him how they are both going a few months down the track.

Been a long time since I had a post ......... I also am (now was) a big fan of Maguires. Then I found ZYMOL .... what a difference.

If you thought that the Big M was good then you will be pleased with Zymol.

I recently had my red car being serviced at Dick Richey's MX-5 Factory. Hid replaced the diff and did a "Zymol treatrment" on the car. It has never looked better. Dick is an agent for Zymol.

Haven't tried Zymol yet.

Big M is my staple wash/wax but after reading the company website and loving the fact it was an Aussie product I picked some up on the weekend.

Pretty impressed, not sure if it's the best wax i've used (time will tell) but it's the best smelling.

I've been using their gear for a while now, and I'm very impressed!!

Previously I had used Meguires, Detailers Paradise, Poor Boys, Minerva, Swissol, Autoglym, and I consider Bowdens to be better than all of these. I doubt that Zymol is miles ahead, if ahead at all... I did a lot of research on car care products a few years ago when I had a black MX5 and so tried most of the above at that time. I got some great results, but the Bowdens stuff has worked just as well, if not better than all of the above.

They do all of their own testing and product development, and the added bonus is that they're local, as well as being very keenly priced. They're also very passionate car enthusiasts first and foremost, not a car care product co that has bought some nice cars to try and market their products with.

I've been happily using Bowden's Own products for almost 10 years now since meeting Dan Bowden the founder of the company. That was back in the days when he was first starting out and they have grown from strength to strengh based on the simply desire to create the best products they possibly can for the 85 odd cars in their collection and to share with car enthusiast like us. They have their own chemist that develps and tests the products to top world standards. I personally love their car wash which gives amazing results, try it once and you'll never use anything else again. Their paint cleanser, wax and tyre sheen are my other favourites although I think I might be addicted to the smell of the tyre sheen !
Check out their website for a great 'How to' section which explains how to best use their products and for washing, waxing and detailing tips.
I am a bit concerned about one of their latest products though, the Muffy Sponge !! I'll have to check that out

Supercheap sells them for $10 (and a few other Bowden's products - they are slowly expanding the range though)

The muffy sponge is all I use on my cars. I also use the clay and quick detailer as lubricant. Haven't used Bowdens wax and polish as yet as I still have bulk Autoglym HD products that I bought a while back but definitely going to give it a try

Autoglym's HD Wax is great, same with Collinite 845/915 (depending on the colour of your car - 845 = lighter shades, 915 - darker). Long lasting and VERY durable, especially for a non-synthetic based wax.

For a QD, I have started to use a no rinse car wash (optimum or even the newly released turtle no rinse/waterless, the turtle is more diluted alternative of the optimum, otherwise the same product smell/texture wise) as a quick detailer alternative/clay lubricant, as it works out better economically for the same result as many pre-prepared quick detailing products. Try it, you won't be disappointed. 500ml will make MANY litres of QD :wink:

Thanks for the heads up, will definitely give that a try! Quick detail products from Meguiars and the other big guys cost nearly 20 bucks a bottle now, anything that is cheaper but works the same has to be worth trying.

I tried Bowden's Own wax last weekend and was very impressed with the fact that they're very local (1 hr away), ease of use, bubblegum smell and the fact that they're honest on the longevity of their product on the website.

3-4 months for a daily, 6-12 months for a car that isn't a daily depending on where you park it.

Can't ask for better than that!

I'm happy to wax every 3 months, and do a full 3-5 pass detail every 6 months anyway. (All machine applied, used the random orbital on low speed for the wax application)

Having said that, I was also very impressed with the result, so I'll just leave this here, and encourage others to do so as well who are happy with the local guys product.
