I am considering changing the OEM steering wheel on my NA8. It is the same steering wheel pictured in the link below.

However, upon inspection with a tape measure, it appears the stud pattern of this steering wheel is approx 6x55mm, instead of the standard 6x70mm for Momo, Sparco, etc. I know this particular steering wheel is also OEM for some FD RX7's. Is this a one-off product from Momo? I guess I will still need to buy a boss kit?
My brother's NA6 also has the OEM Momo wheel, but with the normal 6x70 stud pattern....

Re: NA8 Momo Steering Wheel
Why don't you just remove your steering wheel and see if the standard boss has a bolt pattern to suit your brother's Momo? The NA6 Momo definitely has the standard Momo bolt pattern, so if that fits than any off-the-shelf Momo will fit.
When I removed my steering wheel I found that a previous owner had already fitted an aftermarket boss kit that has both Momo and Nardi patterns, so you never know what you might find!

Re: NA8 Momo Steering Wheel

Re: NA8 Momo Steering Wheel
Yep, which is exactly why I'm posting here.
I'm was guessing there still is a normal momo boss underneath and that those bolts are simply for the horn surrounds/front cover. From yours and Emily's responses, it looks like I may be correct.
Anyway, I'll probably open it up tmrw and confirm everything. Just thought I'd post here to get a straight answer.

Re: NA8 Momo Steering Wheel
Well, after removing the wheel today, my suspicions are correct. This does NOT use a momo boss, in fact, no boss at all just like any typical OEM steering wheel. Which means that this is a one-off special from Momo for the NA8 and RX7.
Yep, the stud pattern I measured was for the horn surround, nothing to do with the mounting of the steering wheel.
