Yup, it's all bloody confusing.

And this forum is great for sorting out the confusion (as well as creating it).
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Ross,
Check the garage threads, Ben Sale has an NA and does very well, check his results and his tuning tips. It is important to have a datum, so start a log and include everything including a section for stuff that appeals to you for future reference.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Decide if you want forced or naturally aspirated first and make decisions from there.

Ross it's also difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff online. Meaning, you don't necessarily know if you are talking to a keyboard warrior or someone who actually has the development experience and expertise with an mx5 to be well placed to give you sound advice. There are some big talkers around. I would recommend you go and talk to one of the expert workshops, mx5 plus have a good rep.
