If it's to save on weight or for economy, that's fair; But together they don't weight much and would probably be better off getting lighter wheels, stripping all the sound deadening, spare wheel, soft top, aircon and all the aero. So I'm a little confused.
Or is this just for the look? Not an accusing tone here, if it seems like it, that's because it's in text (which always looks condescending lol). Genuinely curious.
Well I didn't really like the centre console so I got rid of it and made the carpet console, the original console wasn't in great condition and I found it pretty annoying. In that process I bought the Trap centre panel, Jetstream boot release cover and the cobra shift boot and collar which all look great together.
When we were painting the car I pulled up the carpet (which was in poor condition) and painted all the interior, I plasti dipped the floors, insulated all the wiring and relocated it.
I liked it, so I kept it that way.
I still like it and I wouldn't go back.
At the moment I run a floor mat on the drivers side just so I can take my heels off on the trip home from work however the TRS carbon footwell is tempting, perhaps in the new year.
The car doesn't get dríven everyday, maybe 2-3times a week. Work cars are for putting kms on.
When I am bored with it I will give the Mx-5 to my Dad, so maybe he can put the carpet back in lol.
