Sure. Look, roll bars should be fully legal- your life your choice, I mean, you take your chances when you cross the street, and it does look cool.

Dan has hit the nail on the head.

I sold mine because:
-I was over the look
-It is not cams or FIA approved
-From an engineering point of view, the selected materials, bends, and connections are not really correct for the application or the loads that are to be expected in a crash or roll.

Padding on Jap rollcages does not do much either. Sure it makes it more comfortable to lean on the bar or when you accidentally bump it. Try punching the bar and it will feel just as solid.
You need sfi rated padding. Even with this it is dangerous in road conditions as it is designed to absorb impact with a helmet on.

Btw welding the front legs and the main hoop together means that you will not be physically able to remove the cage from the car. I tried doing this with the cage as one piece. Enjoy the cage as is and when you get bored of it (or defected  ) you can sell it on later.

After my cage I settled with a MX5+ Tall Boy and will get some bolt in door bars.

Just giving you some of the things I've learnt from my studies and past experience.

deffinetly want to get at least a few things done before the first track day of 2014! brainstorming a few things...
-braided brake lines
-brake fluid
-good pads
-rollcage
-finish up splitter( attach it to chassi finally)

should be pretty good bang for buck ^^

and for those of you who follow Danny george ( who i am a huge fan of), this is his personal design for his new NB mx5. if anyone doesnt know him they should go check him out! he is a pro drifter. and i know alot of people here probs wont respect drifting for what it is but if u get into it its really interesting, the only difference between a drift car and a time attack car is pretty much the suspention and drive style. let me know what u think!

I don't think you took into account that the SE/MSM needles are red - might make reading the tacho a bit hard?

You might want to consider getting a cluster with white needles and use those.

Are those the exact ones? They look like they would only suit the Jap clusters with the resting position of the needle at 6 o'clock.

there we have it :p looks amazing imo and exactly what i wanted!! gives me a change to look at :D was a pretty simple install, just had to be very carefull and not even touch the guage faces, as it will ruin them. wore gloves that came with the guages which was awsome. tell me what u think!!!
cheers :)

Love the 6 o'clock "0" dial position but think you should replace the tacho needle with a white one.

Also, BLUEWAFFLEGARAGE? What am I missing?
