Nik, ADM 10AE is 3.6 like NB8B dispite what some old sources say. I posted ADM 10AE spec sheets a little while back showing 3.6, & I've seen a 3.6 removed from a one owner ADM 10AE which now lives in that owner's shed in case he reverts.

Yes I did buy the WA advertised one.

Thought so, which begs the question what else had been done to that ADM 10AE, which was sporting a 180kph JDM cluster, prior to you buying it.

It's from the big forum, scroll down to post #23. There would be people here that would have gearboxes, drives are small and you could post them all over the country.

One for the speedo experts;
My NA with 205 40 17 tyres give an accurate speedo reading compared to the GPS, however the trip meter reads 20% low. not sure what the ODO accuracy is compared to trip, but I will check next weekend.
Any Idea why the trip is different to the speedo - I thought it was a mechanical connection.

Speedo is a magnetic connection. ODO is mechanical, its just a counter with a super reduction drive off the gearbox mainshaft.

Yeah, when I saw this one advertised it was by a dealer in WA, but this issue has come about by Subsie understandably wanting to revert the ADM 10AE to an ADM cluster. The ADM 10AE was sold with a JDM cluster fitted (the ad pics showed the JDM cluster fitted), which as long as it was working correctly wouldn't provide Subsie with a warranty claim as I understand it. Perhaps it was even sold 'as traded', if this still occurs, as the price was very reasonable.

Going after a dealer because the gauges fitted are not the original would be like going after a dealer because the headlight globes aren't the originals.
As long at it works, it's fine.

The only thing that may be an issue is if the odometer was changed, which is quite likely, since the odometer reading is held in the gauge cluster and not the car ECU.
So there's a possibility the car has 500,000km on the clock, and the previous owner just plugged a Japanese cluster in that had only 100,000km on it.

I'd like to think most people would have had the odometer changed to show the correct reading... but since that's a $200 job (well, what I was quoted) I doubt it.


I actually went the other way with my car, I went from a cluster with 120,000 on it to one with 130,000 on it. (close enough)

Yeah sorry, I thought the car was bought with the speedo reading out. I missed the part where OP said he had swapped gauges out
