got a link to what you are checking? cos:-

http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFil ... IB_108.pdf

A vehicle fitted with coloured lighting can be given a compliance notice (defect notice/yellow sticker)

A vehicle fitted with coloured lighting can be given a compliance notice:
Under-body lamps are visible when viewed by another driver whilst seated in a low vehicle.
Where under-body lamps are fitted, there exist chromed under-body car components which may reflect the light unacceptably towards other road users.
The lamps fitted can be confused with turn indicators, brake lamps, emergency warning lamps, etc.
The lighting diminishes the conspicuity of other statutory lighting requirements.
The lamps flash or if they can be made to flash.

2 reasons within WA transport mobs that would have got you a defect...

not sure what you mean by checking carefully. But I found that with a 5 second google search.

I did not offend any of these restriction from above.
Having blue is doesn't mean it can be confused as emergency warning. As long as the blue is not flashing then how can it be emergency warning? A brake light is red and you could say it is emergency warning too.

No offence meant Tescoking, but ƒü¢k OFF, THE LAW IS THE LAW and that is all.
Greg.
P.S. It is also an offence to display flashing amber lights O/S of a work zone.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

I can understand that why you are so sad, because you can't even have another colour.

yes you did. blue is blue. it can be confused, maybe not easily in your books, but it can be. and they dont need to flash to be confusing, as per the last rule. which is why flashing has its own rule.

you neons in your garage thread would be easily seem by other motorists on the road. i can see them in the photo. so how do you claim they are not? the police person could see them also.

seriously?

sorry if english isn't your first language. but the rules are pretty simple. do not have your neons turned on while you are driving. colour is just a secondry issue.

You're lucky you got a decent cop who just gave you a warning and not a fine and/or defect.

Maybe save the neon usage for the carpark.

Lots of hate here.

I think the neon looks dumb also, is anyone legitimately confused with which car is which?

..

But I do believe that you aren't allowed, so just leave them off when moving.

It's more for distance, and night.

At night in the rear view mirror, with headlights shining you can't really make out what make/model a car is until it's pretty close.
All you can make out is car, blue lights.

Hell, I've even mistaken HID lights for police ones a few times (when they hit a bump and the light goes a very blue colour, I guess refraction or whatever)
Granted, it's only been for a split second (one look back and I realise it's not a police car, just some sh*t HID lights)

Not my taste, but I can understand that young guys are into this stuff.

What did surprise me however was some years ago I worked with a social worker/manager who was married to an engineer.
He had the family 4WD all tricked out with these little blue bulbs - must have been a dozen or more around the body.
He thought it made the vehicle look like a roadtrain (or something equally bizarre)

I thought it was kind of a funny thing for a 50yo guy w a family.
Reinforces my belief that a lot of people don't grow up they just pull on a 'disguise' of maturity.

They aren't allowed to, but the system doesn't work properly due to officer 'discretion'.
