Yeah, a few things I learnt with my cage.
- I feel the backing plates aren't really sufficient as they slightly buckle under load. They need to be thicker
- Rear parcel cover plate needs to be removed or trimmed to fit the rear legs through to the trunk.
- Plastic splash guards need to be removed from underneath the rear guards so you can get to the bolts after drilling the required holes. Make sure the rear legs are positioned correctly as it can get quite tight under there.
I actually ended up selling mine as it raised a ton of unwanted attention. However I did get alot of looks at meets and on on the streets when cruising...

and yes u caught me! i suddenly care about what everyone thinks of my car and worried if im not cool enough with my fake useless poser rollcage i might not be able to talk to them im a poser for wanting to try a full cage i found??? if u have knowledge on the topic please shed some light on it like i asked, always so negative dan! :p even if u think it will look crap just tell me, im still curious y you said poser.

Lol, no hard feelings dude, I was hoping you had a proper weld in cage. A lot of these JDM bolt in cages are not very sturdy and are unlikely to increase safety especially in a street car, so the only result is that you can bump your head and that it looks cool.
You see these getting handed around a lot because people think it's a cool idea then lots of pricks like me give them a hard time for being a pretend cage only to be quickly onsold.
It does look cool don't get me wrong.

oh no i have learnt NOT to let what u say ( 50% of it) hurt my sensative feelings! :p
and thanks for explaining that. i do like how it looks but i am not getting it for that haha, gonna make the bottem plate things better(thicker) and weld the middle so it in one peice. and if that doesnt make any difference well... i tryed and learnt ^^ better then no roll bars at all. i just remember a vid of a 4x4 (jeep mabye) running up the back of an mx5... or should i say run on the top of... the only thing that saved him was his roll bar.ill try not to roll it but i cant stop other ppl hitting me ect, oh and mabye it will stiffen me up! and if i DO give in to "ppl like you" then ill be welding it to my chassi before i sell it :p see if that will shut u up

The issue is that they are not made of material anything like that which is FIA or CAMS approved for a bar, ie it just isnt strong enough, and the links which bolt them together are no way near strong enough, however they are strong enough that if you get a 30kph shunt from the side which would have just hurt you may be up for serious head injuries or death, should you head hit it.

padding is designed to lessen a full impact for a driver with a helmet should his harness and hans device fail.
Let me ask you this, If I took a baseball bat, and put that padding on it and hit you in the head with the force of a T bone collision, how do you reckon you would fare?

can never win with u dan! and yes it would hurt, hopefully wouldnt be enough to kill me, but at the moment there are the soft top metal frame bits sort of in the same spot and if the padded bar didnt hit me i gues they would and my head would break before that bar!
