I am getting rid of my oem airbox for a CAI this week in my SE. I got offered on either an AEM paper cone filter or a K&N oil filter. I know there are many others.
Just curious what are the air filters everybody is using on their SE or Turbo mx5 in general.
Have just read this about oil VS paper filter http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html , not sure if it means anything to my application. I also heard that oil filter will dirty MAF from some sources.
What air filter best to use in a Turbo MX5

I am using K&N, can't find a reason to say thats not good. I don't own a turbo or SE. It doesn't have much difference

Dont use an oiled filter with a hot wire maf.
Thats all, just buy a 3", 3a racing pod and put it on.

Re: What air filter best to use in a Turbo MX5
Thanks guys. I am actually getting the CAI off Lockiel here on the forum.
I have taken the AEM unit for now, as it is more rare. Any thoughts on this air filter? I still have the chance to swap it for a K&N with him.
haha.. spoiled with choices a little bit in my case.

AEM is oil free, K&N need reoil over time. Personally like K&N, but take Dann advice as well.

Read this, it's from 2007 but still relevent:

Also, eBay will be your cheapest source for it.
