Basically it's a guide to what requires a cert and what doesn't in NSW.
It's actually very useful. It quite clearly says that pod filters are okay and that exhaust mods that retain factory-like cats are okay. Have a read of the sections on seats. I think there's a fair argument that if you're putting an ADR seat onto stock ADR rails with no other changes, you don't need a cert. But it's not perfectly clear.
Have a read. I really wish every state and territory would adopt a single system for mod laws.
*Edit: I know there are two views in this forum about the need to comply with the law. That's fine. No need to repeat that debate*

It just a basic idiots guide to modifying. On page 2 it have the reference material you should be reading to get complete facts. Read that instead. Especially on stuff you are unsure about.

I love how the government comes up with a national code of practice... and the states ƒü¢k with it to suit the different states...

They have the fewest annual sick days too - I think the state should be renamed "Draconia".

Thanks OCS. I'm going to print this one out, highlight every mod I've got and then store it in the glovebox. In theory if I get pulled over then I will have the info at hand needed to win any argument about mods on the spot.

Thats true. But it give you some decent ammo on the curbside to help you case.
Knowing the rules is sometime enough to have them backoff. I once nearly got a defect for oversized wheels. Wheels are 4 inches bigger than standard. But rolling diameter is 12mm bigger.
Should've seen the 2nd policemens face light up with I told him about the 4 inches bigger than stock. I reckon he must have been reachng for his fine book right at that moment.
I headed him of stating that they are only 12mm bigger rolling diameter, and that is within the allowable 15mm. His partner told him to go sit back in the car and wait.
And to be honest, they had just clocked me for doing 80kph over the speed limit (another story for another time), so they could've arse raped me on the curbside for many things. But just knowing the details for allowable modifications win battles most times.
Also have had wins in mate cars while I was the passenger also.

Thanks for this, I was pestering the RTA last year about when they were going to release the list they'd been saying was "coming" for 12 months.
The document linked above refers to an Order that lists modifications that must be certified. That document is linked here, commencing on page 29.
