12 & 6 wobble that is not hub.

Postby KeeFy » Fri Nov 08, 2013 10:37 pm

Hi Guys, I've been searching the forums with no avail.

I hit a pothole coming round a bend and something gave. Doing the 12 & 6 check, there is some slight movement and I've replaced the hub only to find it's NOT it. :(

Problem is i can't seem to pin point the knocking noise when shaking the wheel at 12 & 6. I can't feel or see anything else moving.

Any tips? Thanks in advance.

Had the same movement in mine until recently. Replaced wheel bearings (they were growling loudly) and lower control arm ball joints ... problem solved.

I have a similar wobble. I believe it to be inner tie rod end, which has not yet been replaced.

Thanks for the replies.

If i'm not wrong, tie rod would show at the 9 & 3 mark, but there is no noise at 9 & 3. Only at 12 & 3.

I thought it was lower ball joint as well, but i don't feel any play in it. I really should go buy a pry bar and double check it.
Or maybe i'll just have a go and change that as well.... hopefully that will fix it up.

Thanks guys! :)
