30 psi. The previous owner said he ran 36, but that seemed excessive to me

I got an NB8A with TEIN, running Kumho KU36's and tyres are set at 36psi for both road and track

Tyre wear is horrendous - so far only got 20,000km road km's and over 600 track laps!

The ride is perfect!

That's the price you pay for grippy fast tyres though. I love my ku36 but they certainly don't last too long!

You could try it at min recommended 29 to see the effect but I wouldn't bother. Something seems wrong with the set-up.

I find the ride and grip on the NC with KU36s is fine at 30-32 cold. Mine has stock (80,000km) springs/shocks and adjustable sway bars front and rear.

Have you compared your car's ride with another similarly equipped NC?
Have you compared with a standard NC?
Is your suspension hitting the bump stops? Maybe try Fatcat?

That sounds about right, that's what Iv been recommended to run.

I was also using 36 psi (16" factory wheels) but Im now using 30 psi. The difference in ride and 'comfort' is huge especially with coilovers. I thought if you had the tyres pumped right up that may have been the cause.

I've not had the opportunity to compare with other NC's.

I went on a club run today - about 200 k on a variety of roads ranging from the Pacific Highway to some fairly rough local roads and the ride felt pretty average with nearly all road imperfections being transmitted through the car. Even though the car handled fine, it felt somewhat dead (not so much unresponsive, but rather lacking in feedback). It felt less connected than my NB which ran standard suspension.

It is definitely not hitting the bump stops.

Seriously thinking of going back to standard shocks and springs as I have a near new set and am running almost stock height on the coilovers. The car will stlll have the towers and underbody bracing as well as the adjustable rear sway bar.

I've long toyed with the idea of Teins or similar but stayed with stock + adjustable sways. It's a bit 4WD ish in the looks department but sticks very well and I don't have to cringe every time I go over a speed bump like I do with the BMW

I've now replaced the rear suspension with factory, Ride height is pretty much the same, ride has improved and no noticable difference to handling, but am yet to drive a really twisty road.
