It did last summer...
Until hot days, full tubes of sunscreen, and inevitable pressure differences caused the inside of my console to be very well protected from UV.
The only way around that is to squeeze a little air out of the tube, creating a partial vacuum, meaning less stuff to expand, and more room for it to expand.

Summer is the time for a hardtop.

Autumn/winter is roof off time, fresher air, better temperature, less glare, no sunburn.

This is one place the nb upgrades hinder thing. The Na soft top with the rear window down is an excellent middle ground.

I thought that's what the little cubby hole on the left in the NB boot was for. I keep a 1L tub in there at all times, although that's mostly because my car is used for driving to cricket and golf every week.

Last Monday one of the former Club members who had two MX5's was driving home up the Bruce Highway - 'morons' on one of the overpasses were dropping rocks and he copped one right in the middle of the screen of his brand new Kluger - time of day? try around 4pm with a Police Speed Camera almost below as well

That's one thing that does scare me with the roof down :evil:

That's really poor. Can't believe people do that!

I don't personally drive under any overpasses in my daily drives, or to any of my mates or relatives place, so it's not a concern for me.
What I fear most is birds...

Anyone ever had to get bird poo out of a cloth seat? Doesn't seem like it would be too easy

It's not that difficult.

A decent vaccuum cleaner, some upholstery cleaning spray, and an old toothbrush.

A mate of mine who is not lucky enough to have a 5, but has a sunroof, parked under a tree at his work in wacol. This particular tree is very popular with the birds. He left his sunroof open by mistake. I've never seen anything like it. It was horrendous.
